ANSMA does not solely provide insurance to its member clubs we also actively advocate with Government to enhance the enjoyment of our lifestyle with as little intrusion of legislative controls as can be achieved in an era when our freedoms are being eroded and limited everyday by the action of Government’s in all their various forms.
ANSMA Inc. is a founding Member of the Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs (ACMC).
The formation of this group was to concentrate the numbers of enthusiast under a single entity so that it can bring pressure to bear on Governments to allow us a place at the table when new legislation relative to vehicles are being considered by various Governments.
With the formation of ACMC Inc. and it’s influence the NSW Government has now given enthusiasts the opportunity to voice their opinion on changes to Legislation when in the planning stage instead of having to fight changes once they have been implemented.
ANSMA Inc. through its membership of ACMC Inc was successful in 2015 to have a 60 Day Log Book Scheme created for Historic vehicles which were already eligible for the Conditional Registration Scheme (CRS) the second tier of this scheme commenced in December 2016 to creating a scheme to cater for modified vehicles 30 years or older.
This Scheme is referred to as “Classic Vehicle Scheme” (CVS).
Members are also encouraged to nominate for positions on the executive of ANSMA at the Associations AGM’s. However, nominees for the positions of National President and National Vice President must have held a Committee Position for at least two years prior to nomination, (see the ANSMA Inc. Constitution).
